In One Can’s Trash, you play as a little worm that lives near a trash can that has fallen over. The evil fly king that lives in the can has stolen your brother and it’s your job to swap hot garbage with the critters that live nearby if you ever hope to get him back. Every creature has some piece of trash lying around and some other treasure they’re looking for.
This project was a solo dev oddysey. I created the game in GB Studio, using Aseprite for pixel art/animation, Excel for music files and used their internal visual coding system to make the game function. It includes narrative event trees with variable dialogue, an inventory system, and even a functional underground economy for the ants in the game.
